Nefyn Camps is a Christian camp, where there will be teaching from the Bible. We welcome campers from a Christian family background or a non-faith background. 

We are part of the Evangelical Alliance (Membership# 3003360) and our teaching on camps reflects that.

Mission Statement:

Nefyn Camps exists:

  • To provide high quality, safe and enjoyable holidays at an affordable price for children and young people in a Christian environment.
  • To present the Gospel through example, lifestyle and teaching, and to encourage a personal faith in the Lord Jesus.
  • To help Christians to grow spiritually and prepare them for responsible Christian living, through example, lifestyle and teaching.
  • To train and develop Christian leadership skills in both current and potential future leaders.

Basis of Faith – We believe in:

  • The one true God who lives eternally in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.
  • The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God – fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.
  • The dignity of all people, made male and female in God’s image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.
  • The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ – born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.
  • The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.
  • The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.
  • The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.
  • The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.
  • The church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers — given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit’s gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.
  • The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfill the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth

Policy Statement:

Both as an organisation and as individual leaders/helpers, we commit ourselves to the nurturing, protection and safekeeping of all, especially children.

  • The organisation is committed to supporting, resourcing and training those who work with children, and to providing supervision.
  • The organisation is committed to regularly reviewing current “best practice” in the care and protection of children, and to agree and adopt appropriate policies.
  • Each leader/helper will be given a copy of the child protection guidelines, be expected to sign to say they have read them and undertake to observe them.

Lifestyle statement for leaders:

  • At Nefyn Camps, we believe that the Bible calls us to a distinctive lifestyle of discipleship.
  • Our ministry requires us to demonstrate that distinctive lifestyle, especially as we are likely to influence others. Such a lifestyle includes;
    • regular Bible reading and prayer and active involvement in a local church.
    • it is marked by a selfless attitude to money, possessions, time, work, leisure, social action and relationships.
    • it also demonstrates moral standards including an acceptance that the only context for a sexual relationship that is clearly affirmed by the Bible is within a marriage between a man and a woman.
  • Whilst we recognise that as fallen people we often fall short of this ideal, we believe that grace and forgiveness are always available to those who repent. We nevertheless expect that all working with us will be committed to work towards achieving such a lifestyle with God’s help.

There is room for private uncertainty, doubt or even disagreement with some of the above lifestyle statement for leaders, so long as these do not impact your contribution to, or the teaching on, the camps.
