If you are considering being a leader at Nefyn, let me answer a few questions!
At Nefyn camps we are perfectly placed on the Llyn peninsula for an action packed week of fun, sun and learning about God.
A campsite?
The camp site is located only 5 Minute walk from both beach and village! It has a fully fitted kitchen and the shower block has 6 individual warm running showers, enough to keep everyone smelling nice!
All the main meetings, dinner times and ‘indoor’ activities take place in a large marquee which also has pool tables and table tennis tables set up to use in free time!
Where do I sleep?
We all sleep in tents which are made of canvas and sleep 8 people comfortably. Mats are provided for comfort however bring a sleeping bag to keep warm. Leaders sleep separately to campers. Leaders are generally expected to share a tent with other leaders for the protection of both campers and leaders. If this would be an issue for you, please speak to your camp leader before applying for camp and the Nefyn Committee will consider your case.
Boys sleep on one side of the field, girls on the other so the girls don’t have to smell the boys tents!!
What happens at Nefyn?
During the day we run a wide range of trips, go to the beach and play games on the field, as well as running seminars to get to grips with the bible and commonly asked questions.
Evenings take different form depending on the camp but all have an evening meeting and time of worship. Quiet times are ran in tent groups by the tent leaders. Some happen in the morning after breakfast and some take place in the evenings, again depending on the camp.
Why should I be a leader at Nefyn?
It is a week that will totally transform your year. You will be exhausted by the end, but you will have been part of an amazing team, working for an amazing God, doing some amazing things!
